ANNE of Green Gables Chocolates

In 1999 we began as a traditional chocolate shoppe that highlights Anne of Green Gablesinspired handmade chocolates.

The original store and factory was in Avonlea, an idyllic village created in Cavendish, PEI based on the book Anne of Green GablesWe launched with sweets like fudge, chocolate caramels, and chocolate creams all inspired by recipes from 1908, the period the book was published.

Our most famous product is our chocolate-covered potato chips, known whimsically as COW Chips. They were first introduced in 2003 after months of extensive testing.  Inspired by one of PEI’s most dominant crops, potatoes, the mix of sweet, salty, smooth, and crunchy quickly took off pleasing the palates of everyone who tasted it!

In 2011 high demand for our chocolates meant that we moved to what we now call ANNE's Chocolate Factory and our flagship store at 15 Milky Way, Charlottetown.

At ANNE’s Chocolate Factory, our "A" Team takes pride in delivering the best flavours Prince Edward Island has to offer. Our products are made with the finest wholesome Island ingredients we can find.

ANNE’s playful and precocious personality has inspired us at ANNE of Green Gables Chocolates.  We strive to reflect her colourful and creative charm in everything we do.

You can find our decadent PEI Handmade chocolates and other scrumptious treats at our PEI locations, online and through many of our retail partners in Atlantic Canada and beyond!

Please drop in or place an order for some ANNE’S Caramels, Chocolate Covered COW Chips, ANNE’S Raspberry Cordial, Spud Island Potato Chips or ANNE'S Caramel Corn!

At ANNE Chocolates, we deliver happiness, one chocolate at a time!

ANNE of "Greener" Gables

More recently, we have been inspired by Anne’s love of nature to create our ANNE of “Greener” Gables initiatives.  We have chosen to

  1. Transition our packaging to environmentally friendly alternatives
  2. Give our" A" (ANNE) team paid time for participating in the Prince Edward Island Spring Clean Up
  3. Reflect the 3R approach (reduce/reuse/recycle) in our operations.

As we grow, we hope to shrink our carbon footprint through tree planting, solar initiatives, and other environmentally friendly endeavours.
