Hi, we’re Jon and Karolina, the Smokin Jon’s Team. We’re shamelessly Saucy, and that’s the way we like it!
Jon, a chef by trade with extensive experience in the culinary industry, always had a passion for creating delicious food and has been experimenting with new and unique flavours from around the world for many years.
As a CPA, Karolina has a passion for numbers and is responsible for the administrative side of the business.
Although our company was officially founded in May 2021, Jon had already been making his Smokey Maple BBQ sauce for the past 12 years for friends and family. During the pandemic, in the early spring of 2021, a lot of friends kept asking if Jon was making his famous Smokey Maple BBQ sauce again, and so we ended up making 60 bottles one day at our home in New Brunswick. This was the first and last time we had made a batch at home … From needing to pull out the lobster gas cooker to accommodate the large pot of BBQ sauce, to ruining the dining room table with those hot bottles, to our less than impressed dog and cats as they had to get banned from the kitchen during this whole process.
Those 60 bottles were already spoken for before they were made, with a lot of inquiries following from people looking to purchase the sauce. This is how Smokin Jon’s was born … Since then we have added another three BBQ sauces, two hot sauces, and 5 spices. Now our products are prepared in a commercial kitchen and sold at a variety of retail stores across Canada (AB, ON, NB, NS, PEI, NL).
Experience Smokin Jon’s handcrafted sauces and spices with their unique and rich flavours, made in small batches and with only natural ingredients. We believe in supporting local and are working with suppliers from the Maritimes for the honey, maple syrup, and cranberries used in our products.
